• LEAVE AND ABSENCE RULES

‘Leave Record’ and ‘Absent Record’ have been provided in the School Handbook itself.  Only these ought to be used, not Letters.  ‘Leave Record’ is meant to be used by parents/ guardians in case of leave required for serious reasons.  The Handbook should be pesented at the Principal’s Office that very day, well in time, beforethe attendance is taken , or else the student will be marked ‘Absent’

When it is foreseen that a child would be absent from School on a particular day,  for grave reasons, it is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to get the leave sanctioned well in advance from the School authorities

Leave is not granted to a student whose attendance has gone below 80%

A student who remains absent without getting the leave sanctioned, on returning to the School, should bring proper entry in the ‘Absence Record’ in order to get entry in the Class.

Long leaves must be applied for, by the parents personally at least one day in advance.

Application for the sick leave for more than two days should be with medical certificate.  The application must be renewed on plain paper if the handbook is in the class.  Also the parents should produce a medical certificate.  Unless specially sanctioned, the School will not grant more than three leaves in a month.

Absence of students from the class for merely family/social function is highly discouraged and the School does not hold itself responsible for a student who suffers in his/her daily progress on account of this.  Unsanctioined absence for 10 consecutive days will make a student liable to have his/her name struck off from the register.

School will not hold a separate written exam for any student, who may be absent during Periodic Tests or Half yearly/ Yearly examination due to any reason.

Half-day leaves are not granted.  In case of inevitability , parents have to come and apply personally and take the ward along.

When the student represents the School in competitions, games, etc., the handbook is to be signed by the teacher-in-charge.  In the attendance it will be marked as present.

Attendance is compulsory on Independence Day, Republic Day, Second Saturday and PTM Days.

An attendance of 80% is compulsory for Promotion.
